Giorgio Cini Foundation

Established in 1951 on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore by Vittorio Cini, the Giorgio Cini Foundation is a pole humanities for the research, study and enhancement of cultural heritage.

Divided into Institutes, Centres, Libraries and Residences for scholars, the Giorgio Cini Foundation promotes debate and contemporary dialogue between cultures from all over the world and preserves an inestimable heritage of
artistic, literary, musical and archival treasures.

Giorgio Cini Foundation

Vatican Chapels

Vatican Chapels

Online booking is required

Guided tours on the island of San Giorgio take place in time slots with limited admissions. To avoid waiting and to ensure entry, online booking is therefore required.

Online booking is through the online purchase of the free admission ticket, then selecting a day and time slot. When booking, select the ‘FREE’ item (valid for holders of a My Special Venice card).

Please show up 10 minutes before the booked time and show the staff the QR code (via smartphone or printed version), received by email after purchasing the card.

How to get there

VAPORETTO : vaporetto number 2 (red number on the boat) stops at San Giorgio, both for those coming from the railway (Stazione Santa Lucia), from Piazzale Roma, from Tronchetto and from the Zattere, and for those coming from arrives from San Marco (San Zaccaria stop, pier B)
